Ed began his professional career as an underwater photographer at the University of Miami Marine Laboratory. Later he focused on nature and wildlife photography and over forty of his nature scenes are permanently displayed in Martin County offices in Stuart, Hobe Sound and Indiantown. He has taught Nature Photography under a McDonald Grant Fellowship, and presented a program under the Chataugua Program sponsored by the Martin County Library. His photos have appeared in numerous national publications including Sports Illustrated, Sierra Magazine and National Geographic and he is a recipient of the Florida Magazine Association's "Charlie" award for the best photo of the year. A few years ago Ed created his first painting "Savannas Healing"- now displayed in the lobby of the Hoke Library in Jensen Beach- but it's been only in the past two years that he has become devoted to developing the skills to translate some of his vast inventory of photographs and memories to canvas. Actually he often uses wood panels as the substrate for his larger works, up to 4 x 8 feet, using polymer acrylic resin as a medium. The online gallery exhibits work expressing a variety of techniques and styles in the tradition of a painter's evolution to artistic maturity. His first entry into the domain of art competition won a third-place award at the 2005 Annual Regional Art Show at the Cultural Court House in Martin County.
